Just a Few Friends December Blog Hop:

Snow Globe Ornament

"Hi and welcome to my den. I can't believe December is here. That means it's the PURRfect time to celebrate many winter holidays. Whether you POUNCING around to prepare for Hunnukah, Christmas or Kwanzaa, it is an awesome time to be surrounded by family and friends. I just love the "appearance" of fresh falling snow, house decorated in festive lights, and of course the Christmas trees and all the trimmings.

Speaking of trees with trimmings, today along with the rest of the PRIDE of Just a Few Friends, I have created a Christmas Ornament. My family would not allow me to put up my traditional shabby chic pink and cream ornaments and ribbons. So this year, I am going with a silver and blue theme which totally welcomes winter. It is so beautiful and actually a rather refreshing change of pace.

I have created  an ornament that I think would look lovely on the tree. Here are a few pics.

Here is a video giving an overview of the elements used:

I purchase the clear ornament from Michael's.
On the inside:  The image is from a 12x12 Christmas paper stack from KandCompany. My sister gifted me the large flaked glitter sometime ago, I have finally found a good use for it. Finally, I used a Martha Stewart pounch to add the little snowflakes inside.
On the outside: I added some 4inch wide lace, ribbons, and I Am Roses flowers to frame it all out. I think it is absolutey PURRfect for our tree.  I hope you like my creation... but there is sooooo much more to see.

Please visit all the Dens in the JustAFewFriends Family. As you hop along with us you will be introduced to 13 different styles! 13 different inspirations to create something beautiful to enjoy your Christmas...If you landed here by chance, visit Elsa's blog so you can hop along from the begining and not miss a thing, if you've been hopping along then pounce on over to Violet's den  http://allthatscrap4him.blogspot.com   to see what she has  created!

Just A Few Friends Thanksgiving Hop

Hello everyone.  Thank you for taking time out of your day to prowl around our dens for our Thanksgiving/Fall Hop. We have all been busily creating some awesome thanksgiving home decor items for you  to enjoy. We hope to inspire you all to create a little something to celebrate with over thanksgiving. Our challenge and theme this month was to create something for the home in Fall or Thanks Giving colours.

My project is a table scape. My family is very traditional, yet "informal". We are far more comfortable gathered around our kitchen island rather than the dining table. So I decided to pounce around in the kitchen to make the island a little more "purrfect" for our Thanksgiving feast. I decided to create name plates, mini menus (which are subject to change hehehe), and a small floral container.
The name plate is simply cut using a spellbinders die. I used one of the KandCompany Fall paper pads. I added some distressed sunflowers, added some glittery/bling letters and I was done. I purchased the pumpkin name tag holder from Michael's right after Halloween.
I also used the same paper pad to create the menus. I cut the layers at 5 1/2 inches and 5 inches. I printed the menu on some vanilla cardstock and used another spellbinders die for the fancy edging.
Finally, the floral container is a large (industrial) tissue roll I got out of my local Marshalls. It was empty and bond to go into the trash. So I rescued it and turned it into a lovely bud vase for silk flowers. I have been prowling every store now on the look out for these tissue rolls. I scored two more at Michaels to complete my table scape. Again I used the same paper and a EK success punch, flowers, and a Recollections wood bird trinket to finish it off. I hope you enjoyed my table scrape. I am roaring with pride over how simple and elegant it turned out.  Now if you would like to see more awesome fall projects, please pounce on over to Violet's blog  http://allthatscrap4him.blogspot.com/ and see what she  created. And if your on my blog by chance, please prowl/pounce on over to Elsa’s blog and start the hop from the beginning!  Enjoy the remainder of the hop. Blessings and Happy Thanksgiving to you all.

Just a Few Friends "Halloween Slider Card Hop"

Hello Everyone,

Thanks for prowling around our Dens to check out our creepy slider cards. You are in for a "purrfect" treat...no tricks. We have all been extra sneaky, creeping and sliding around to make these cards. Please take time to visit each den to see the slithering slider cards. They are sure to be spooktacular.  If you pounced over to my Den by chance, please go back to Elsa first and check out her awesome slider card. Go in order of the line up so you won't miss out on the awesome projects. If you are in the right place, please tell me what you think about  my slider card.

Okay, so this is my very first Halloween card. It is also my first slider card. It was tricky at first, but soooo much fun to create. I used the K and Company paper and a few embellishments  I purchased last year after Halloween. I wanted that card to be a litttle bit creepy, but sweet at the same time. So the cyanide poison and cameo delivered on both. I decided to use purple as the primary color to give it a feminine touch. I also wanted this to be a traditional card so that I could add a photo of my son in his costume. So I attached the slider card to a standard card and added a stamped quote, along with  a photo mat.  If you know anything about me, you know I love flowers, bling, and flatback pearls. I added a flower or two and a bling skull. For the first time in history, I did NOT add flatback pearls to my project.  Okay, not true. if you look at the last photo, you'll notice I added an orange flower with a black flatback pearl. After looking at the card again, I  thought something was needed to break up all the purple lol. I really hope you like the card. It's simple and sweet. Just the way I like things. Please leave a comment and pounce on over to Violets blog to see her amazing mind at work. Thanks for stopping by. Roar!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Surprise the Den!!!

Thanks for visiting my blog today. The Just a Few Friends group is having our August blog hop and I am so excited. We decided to keep our creations a secret. We had creative freedom this month and created various excited projects. We all had a great time playing.  I decided to create a bird cage tissue box holder. I received the template from my dear Austalian friend Lesley. I assembled and decorated using pattern paper, bling, paper flowers, fabric trim, a doily and a ton of glitter glue. lol All I need now is a little birdie to call this place Home Tweet Home.  I hope you like it.

Stars and Stripes

Happy 4th of July Everyone.

The ladies and " the gent"  in the Den is having a mini-blog hop. We each created something  using stars and stripes as our theme. I decided to create a 12x12 layout. Very simple, very patriotic. I used a solid 12x12 red sheet of cardstock. Next I used a rotary scallop cutter to make the cream stripes and layered it on top of the red base.  A used the Martha Stewart  star punch on the corners of the blue photo mats and title base.  I also used some dimensional stars and the letters USA. Finally, I stamped the song "My County Tis of Thee on the bottom blue mat. The empty blue photo mat is where I will be adding my sons patriotic photo that will be taking later on today during our BBQ pool party.

Go check out what the other ladies and gentlemen in the Den are up to.  As you prowl around, you are sure to see some amazing projects. If you started with me by chance, pounce back over to  Elsa and make your way through the Den. Leave a comment for each person you visit. Thanks for participating in our blog hop. We are all roaring with pride over our projects.

Have a safe and fun Independence Day with family and friends. ROAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
