Just a Few Friends December Blog Hop:

Snow Globe Ornament

"Hi and welcome to my den. I can't believe December is here. That means it's the PURRfect time to celebrate many winter holidays. Whether you POUNCING around to prepare for Hunnukah, Christmas or Kwanzaa, it is an awesome time to be surrounded by family and friends. I just love the "appearance" of fresh falling snow, house decorated in festive lights, and of course the Christmas trees and all the trimmings.

Speaking of trees with trimmings, today along with the rest of the PRIDE of Just a Few Friends, I have created a Christmas Ornament. My family would not allow me to put up my traditional shabby chic pink and cream ornaments and ribbons. So this year, I am going with a silver and blue theme which totally welcomes winter. It is so beautiful and actually a rather refreshing change of pace.

I have created  an ornament that I think would look lovely on the tree. Here are a few pics.

Here is a video giving an overview of the elements used:

I purchase the clear ornament from Michael's.
On the inside:  The image is from a 12x12 Christmas paper stack from KandCompany. My sister gifted me the large flaked glitter sometime ago, I have finally found a good use for it. Finally, I used a Martha Stewart pounch to add the little snowflakes inside.
On the outside: I added some 4inch wide lace, ribbons, and I Am Roses flowers to frame it all out. I think it is absolutey PURRfect for our tree.  I hope you like my creation... but there is sooooo much more to see.

    1. Thanks Bon. I appreciate your feedback. Girl, I just had to make it shabby. Hubby and son can take away my favorite colors, but not my style. lol To add the image, I rolled the paper image loosely, added double stick tape to the center and used a dowel to slide it in and position it. I also used glossy accents around the edges and pressed it firmly with the dowel to assure that it didn't shift. The hardest part was making sure the image was straight before the glossy accent became tacky. The glitter part was pretty easy to add. The opening of the ornament is wide. I just poured the glitter onto a sheet of creased cardstock and poured it into the ornament. Looks complicated but it is pretty easy actually. Hugs.
